Rust Manager Log

The Rust Manager Log is the history of the actions taken on players: who did what, to whom, when, and whether it worked. Use it to review moderation, settle disputes inside your admin team and understand why an action did not take effect.

Actions are recorded when you use the Players page, and also when they come from other connected tools. The page header says "History of the actions taken on players".

The table

ColumnMeaning
TIMEWhen the action was requested.
ADMINThe account that requested it.
ACTIONWhat was done, for example Heal, Kick, Teleport, Feed, Recover or Destroy.
PLAYERThe player's name and Steam ID. If the name is not known you may see "Unknown Player" with the ID or the text that was entered.
DETAILSExtra information about the action, such as the amount for a heal. A dash means there are no details.
RESULTWhat happened to the action (see below).

Results

ResultWhat it means
CompletedThe server confirmed that the action was done.
Not confirmedThe request was sent, but the server did not report back that it was completed. It may still have worked: check in game.
Not deliveredThe request did not reach the server. This often happens when the server is stopped or still starting.
FailedThe server received the action but could not carry it out.

If you see many Not delivered results, check that the server is running, that it has finished starting (Server startup complete in the Console) and that the Players page shows live data.

Filters

Above the table you can narrow the list down:

  • The search box ("Search by player, admin or action") finds rows by player name, Steam ID, admin or action.
  • The All actions menu shows only one type of action, for example only kicks.
  • The All admins menu shows only the actions of one admin.
  • Refresh (top right) reloads the table with the latest entries.

Combine them to answer questions such as "what did this admin do this week" or "which players were kicked".

Tips

  • Check the log after a busy night to see what your moderators did.
  • If an action shows Not confirmed, look at the player in game or on the Players page before repeating it, so you do not apply it twice.
  • Entries are only history: they do not undo anything. To undo a ban or change permissions, use the tools described in server.cfg and RCON.
