Minecraft hosting
FenixHost runs Minecraft servers for Java Edition, Bedrock Edition, crossplay (Java and Bedrock players on one server) and proxies such as Velocity and BungeeCord. Everything is managed from the game panel: you pick the software and version, install plugins or mods, set the server properties and manage players without touching a terminal.
This section covers the pages in the MINECRAFT group of the panel sidebar. For the pages every game shares (Console, Files, Schedules, Backups, Settings), see the game panel guide.
What you can run
You choose the software on the Versions page. The options are grouped like this:
| Group | Software |
|---|---|
| Java Edition | Paper, Purpur, Vanilla, Fabric, Forge, NeoForge, Arclight, SpongeVanilla |
| Crossplay | Crossplay (Java and Bedrock on one server) |
| Proxy | Velocity, BungeeCord |
| Bedrock | Vanilla Bedrock |
If you are not sure, Paper is a good default: it is fast and supports plugins. Choose Fabric, Forge or NeoForge when you want mods. See Versions for what each one is for.
Your first start
- Open your server in the panel (from the store: Servers, your server, Manage Server).
- On the Console page, press Start.
- Watch the live console. When you see a line containing Done, the server is ready for players.
If the console shows errors instead, open FenixAI and ask it to read the console, or see Troubleshooting.
How players connect
The SERVER ADDRESS card on the Console page shows the address of your server, with a Copy button. In Minecraft Java Edition:
- Go to Multiplayer.
- Click Add Server.
- Paste the address from the SERVER ADDRESS card and join.
Players need a game version that matches your server version (or a compatibility plugin such as ViaVersion on Paper). If you want a friendlier address, create a subdomain. More details are in Connect to your server.
The MINECRAFT sidebar group
| Page | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Versions | Change the server software and Minecraft version safely, with an automatic backup. |
| Plugins | Browse, install and update plugins from SpigotMC (plugin servers). |
| Mods | Browse, install and update mods from Modrinth (Fabric, Forge, NeoForge). |
| Properties | Edit server.properties: MOTD, difficulty, gamemode, view distance and more. |
| Players | Whitelist, operators, banned players and banned IPs. |
| Worlds | Back up and delete worlds, upload your own world. |
| Subdomain | Create an easy address like name.srv.fenixhost.net. |
| Optimization | A practical guide to reducing lag. |
Depending on your software, the sidebar shows Plugins (plugin servers) or Mods (mod servers).
Good habits
- Take a backup before big changes. See Backups, or automate them with Schedules.
- Restart the server after changing plugins, mods or properties.
- Keep an eye on the MEMORY and CPU cards on the Console page.
